Sumi Indo Cable Distributes Assistance for Tsunami Victims in Banten

The Meteorology and Geophysics Agency called the tsunami on the West Coast of Banten not triggered by an earthquake but because of the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau, this incident is indeed quite rare and not as usual. The National Search and Rescue Agency stated that the number of victims killed by the tsunami that hit the Sunda Strait waters on Saturday (12/22) amounted to 429 people.

Tsunami victims were recorded to be 429 people, injured 1,041 people, and missing 16 people. Tsunami victims who died from Banten Province residents were 313 people and Lampung Province 116 people. However, most of the victims who died were residents of Pandeglang Regency.

The National Search and Rescue Agency also said that among the victims came from the Panimbang Beach wailayah as many as 74 people, Carita Beach 71 people, Tanjung Lesung 56 people, Sumur 45 people, and Labuan 17 people. For this reason,  carried out the initiative by visiting the disaster site to ease the burden of the victims by giving a little logistical assistance.

Anwar as the coordinator of the aid handover expressed deep condolences for the disaster, especially for the victims and their families in Banten and Lampung. He also hopes that the physical and psychological recovery process will be carried out immediately. The assistance provided was in the form of basic necessities, school stationery, worship support, milk, underwear, blankets and various other items that could be used to relieve the affected victims.
